MOVIEVEL:Iron Man  is a 2008 superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Directed by Jon Favreau, it stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor who is captured by terrorists in Afghanistan. While held captive, Stark builds a powered exoskeleton to escape. Upon returning to the U.S., he refines the suit and uses it to fight against evil as Iron Man. The film is the first in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was pivotal in establishing its overarching storyline. The cast also includes Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Jeff Bridges as the antagonist Obadiah Stane.
